There were 5 of us. I did something I swore I would never do again, and went during the Holidays, so that a teacher friend of ours could go with us. And of course, we went out with our favorite, Captain Traci and Native Vacations. Well, it worked out perfectly. | The second thing I thought I would never do: I spent the entire week with manatees in the Homosassa River, and never made it to Crystal River. I will have to say, it is in the top 3 of my best encounters with manatees! Every day we were surrounded by manatees, and we rarely had another boat anywhere near us. The water was not ideal for photo’s, but, who cares, the encounters were a 10+.
We also made a trip to the Gainesville Museum of Natural History to see the Butterfly Exhibit. I’.ve been there, of course, but my friends were excited to go. We didn’t get to see our friends Bob and Cathy this year (I think this is a first for me). Their daughter had a baby, yea!
Overall, we had a great trip. |
